Let's face it, all of us have had trouble when it comes to making a solid bio for our characters one way or another. This thread is here to help lessen some of that writer's block we are often stricken with when we get down to the nitty gritty. The following information will hopefully help expand the horizons of your beautiful mind.
I. APPEARANCE
While appearance is easy for some, getting enough information crammed into a bio that makes it easy to thoroughly identify one's character can be tricky. It is a good have an eye for detail and really bring out your character's greatness. There are certain things that are helpful to add that will help you create your character even more in depth. If you are struggling with detail, here are a few things you might want to add or make sure you have:
✶ Hair color and style (Slicked back, wavy, curly, etc.)
✶ Clothing and style (Slacks, formal wear, nude, etc.)
✶ Facial hair for the men (Grizzly, clean, groomed, etc.)
✶ Height and weight
✶ Body type (Short and stocky, tall and thin, etc.)
✶ How they carry themselves/walk
✶ Any other peculiar attributes (Scars, tattoos, piercings, etc.)
II. PERSONALITY
Creating a personality can be one of the most fun parts of the bio, if you let it be. Don't be afraid to go all out and add as many traits as you like. It is always good to start with two positive traits and two negative traits, if you are still figuring out your character. Just remember, it is better for your character to be balanced in their traits. That means they should have their goods as well as their bads, and one shouldn't really outweigh the other.
Example A: Natasha is friendly, smart, honest, and diligent.
**Uh-oh! While those are all valid traits, they are only positive. This is where you need to balance the character and add in a few negatives, maybe she's also stubborn, fussy, finicky, and arrogant.
Example B: Natasha is sharp, optimistic, clumsy, and awkward.
**Good! There are both positive and negative traits that balance her character out.
Balancing your character's traits is one thing, but first you have to decide on the traits. There are plenty of personality types and traits out there, and references to help you. Below, you can find a few links that may do you some good.

III. HISTORY
Histories are the story of your character from past until present. They often begin with infancy, or just before. Some members like to begin with ancestors of their character and go from there while others may begin at the point the character remembers being. An easy way to do your history is by breaking it up into sections. For example:
✶ Childhood
✶ Adolescence
✶ Young Adult
✶ Adulthood (And so on and so forth)
This is merely a suggestion, as everyone's character is different and unique. Nevertheless, having a good back story is always a good idea. Remember to be creative! What happens in your character's past can build who they are, so don't be afraid to branch out and see where this can take you.
